Australian Culture, Fashion and Film at the Ayala Center Cebu

Cebu City – Get a taste of Australian culture, fashion and food at the Philippines Australia Friendship Day to be held on Saturday, 25 May at the Ayala Center Cebu.

Cebuanos will enjoy a full day of fun for family and friends with an interactive exhibit, information sessions, fashion parade and a free outdoor concert and film screening.

Interactive Exhibit and Information Session at the Activity Center

Some of Australia’s famous cities and landmarks will be recreated at Ayala Center’s Activity Centre.  Mall visitors can stroll down Melbourne’s Hosier Lane and browse the retail, education and travel fair. Shop Australian food, check out special travel deals to Australia, and meet representatives from Australia’s education institutions.

Embassy officers will hold a free information session on how to study and travel to Australia beginning at two o’clock in the afternoon.

Fashion Parade at The Gallery

A highlight of the Friendship Day celebration is a community fashion parade featuring young Cebuanos and champion athletes from the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc (PADS) Adaptive Dragon Boat Team. They will walk the runway in Australian fashion brands Cotton On, Ever New, Quicksilver, Roxy, BYS Cosmetics and Anthill by Cebuano designer and Australia Global Alumna Anya Lim.

Free Outdoor Concert and Film Screening at the Terraces Garden

At sundown, home-grown talent Sepia Times will perform at a free concert at the Terraces Garden.  The outdoor concert will be followed immediately by a film screening of Australian short and feature films.

The moonlight film screening will feature the award-winning Australian family movie Paper Planes, alongside a selection of short films featured at Flickerfest, Australia’s world-renowned short film festival. Sign up for free tickets to the outdoor concert at the Embassy’s Facebook Event Page.

Shoppers at Ayala Center Cebu will also get a chance to win two roundtrip tickets to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney via Qantas.     Check promo posters inside the mall for details.
