LAGUNA BAY PRESERVATION GETS SUPPORT FROM AUSTRALIA
The Australian and Philippine governments recently signed a Memorandum of Subsidiary Arrangement at the Australian Embassy to undertake steps to preserve Laguna de Bay, the country’s largest and most important freshwater resource. Funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the MSA was signed by Ambassador Tony Hely (centre) together with (from L-R) University of the Philippines- Los Baños Chancellor Dr Luis Rey Velasco, Dr Patricio Faylon, Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) and Laguna Lake Development Authority General Manager Dr Casimiro Ynares III.
