MR120321 -Australian Embassy Holds AANZFTA Refresher Seminar for Importers

Asean-Australia-New Zealand FTA Refresher Seminar for Importers held in Manila

The Australian Trade Commission, in partnership with the New Zealand Embassy and the Australian- New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Philippines Inc (ANZCHAM), hosted an ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) refresher seminar for importers, brokers and freight forwarders of goods and products from Australia and New Zealand. The event was supported by the Department of Trade and Industry.

Two years from the implementation of the AANZFTA in the Philippines, the organisers believe that it will be helpful to revisit the AANZFTA and re-educate the market on how best to maximise the benefits which importers of goods and products from Australia and New Zealand can enjoy under the terms of the AANZFTA.

During the seminar, speakers from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra, the Bureau of International Trade Relations of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry and the Bureau of Customs highlighted recent developments in the operational procedures of the AANZFTA including the tariff schedules, the certificate of origin and the verification procedures.
