Australian dramatic soprano Claire Primrose performs in Manila

Ambassador Bill Tweddell greets Australian dramatic soprano Claire Primrose after her powerful performance at the Wagner concert at the PhilamLife Auditorium in Manila held last Saturday,  10 November 2012.   Ms Primrose’s performance was applauded by Manila’s cultural community, including by renowned ballerina Ms Liza Macuja (right in photo).  The concert, organised by the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation and supported by the Australian Embassy, is part of celebrations leading up to the birth centennial of German composer Richard Wagner. Ms Primrose was accompanied by an 80-piece Manila Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Russian conductor Alexander Vikulov of the Kirov Opera and Ballet.  The performance also featured a duet with Filipino tenor Randy Gilongo.
