VISIT BY THE AUSTRALIAN COMMAND & STAFF COLLEGE

A group of Defence officers from the Australian Command & Staff College (AC&SC) will be visiting the Philippines for a week in May. The group, made up mainly of students from a variety of countries, including Australia, Jordan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, Tonga, the United Kingdom and the United States, will be touring facilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), interacting with students at the AFP Joint Command and General Staff College, and learning about the culture and military history of the Philippines.

As part of the College’s curriculum, the AC&SC conducts an overseas study tour to various regional nations, with the focus being to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the countries they visit and learning about the military and cultural histories of those countries.

Under the Defence Cooperation Program the Australian Department of Defence sponsors three students and their families to travel to Canberra to attend the 12 month AC&SC. None of the three students currently attending the course are in the group visiting in May as they are travelling to other countries in the region.
